Discounts
There are several types of discounts available in the Prestatill POS system:
PrestaShop Inherited Discounts
Specific price on a product, Cart discount, Catalog discount, Customer group discount... : the price displayed in the POS takes into account the inherited discount.
Please note: if you offer your customers a gift product (using the "send a gift" option in PrestaShop cart rules), it will automatically be added to the POS cart according to the defined rules.
Manual Discounts on a Receipt Item
Click on the current price of the product: a dedicated pop-up opens.
Please note: each product can be discounted independently from the others.
There are several ways to apply discounts: example with a product with an initial price of €48.
To apply a discount, confirm with the Enter key or click the Apply discount button.
Enter a % discount
minus sign "-" is not needed
example: 10%
Enter a different price
without the minus sign "-"
example: 35
Enter a € discount
preceded by the minus sign "-"
example: -5
Please note:
- in all cases, the price discount will then be displayed as %
- going back to the original price is always possible by reopening the pop-up and confirming directly without entering a discount
Warning!
If a manual discount on a product is applied in the POS, it overrides any PrestaShop inherited discounts and applies to the original, non-discounted price.
Discounts linked to a promo code, a gift voucher, or a manual receipt-level discount
After adding at least one product to the cart, click on the global discounts area at the bottom left of the interface: a dedicated pop-up opens.
To apply a discount, confirm with the Enter key or click the Apply button.

(no need to use a minus sign)
example: 10%
Enter a € discount
with or without a minus sign (-)

Please note:
- global discounts are added on top of per-product discounts
- a customer's discounts and gift vouchers are accessible in their customer account, under the "Vouchers" tab. They can be applied to the cart with a single click. (see tutorial Customers)
