Salespeople

They correspond to the employees defined in the PrestaShop back office (Advanced Settings/Team).

It is possible to restrict access to certain point(s) of sale to certain employees, using PrestaShop "profiles".

The cash register automatically detects existing employees in PrestaShop. If no option is configured, all employees can be chosen as salespeople.

Module configuration

The cash register always requests salesperson identification when opening the checkout interface. You can then change it manually whenever you want, as indicated further below in this tutorial.

But if you enable the option "Ask for salesperson identification at each sale?", the cash register will automatically ask for the salesperson's identification before each sale.

Option "Limit access to this store to certain profiles?"

By checking a given profile, only employees associated with this profile will be considered as possible salespeople for the cash register.

If no box is checked, all profiles are available.

Note: these configurations only make sense if multiple salespeople need to access a cash register.

Possible scenarios

Case 1.1: one employee - no profile

There is nothing special to do, none of the options need to be activated. The employee logs into PrestaShop and then accesses the cash register. All transactions are linked to their account.

No salesperson is displayed in the cash register interface since it never changes.

Case 1.2: one employee - one profile

A specific profile is created with a single employee associated with it (in the example, the blue profile, which is associated only with the salesperson Sky).

This profile is specifically checked as the only one that can access the given point of sale.

The operation is then identical to case 1.1.

Note: this configuration only makes sense if there are multiple employee accounts in PrestaShop but only one needs to access the cash register.

Case 2.1: multiple employees - no profile

All employees can be considered as salespeople.

It is possible to log in to PrestaShop with any employee account and then access the cash register. The salesperson's name is displayed in the upper right corner.

If the option "Ask for salesperson identification at each sale?" is NOT enabled, the salesperson will not need to identify themselves again until they leave the cash register interface.

If this option is enabled, identification will be required before each sale.

In all cases, it is possible to change the salesperson by clicking on the salesperson icon in the upper right corner of the cash register interface.

Dans tous les cas, il est possible de changer de vendeur en cliquant sur l'icône vendeur en haut à droite dans l'interface de la caisse.

Case 2.2: multiple employees - one profile (or more)

A specific profile is created, with multiple employees associated with it (in this example, the yellow profile).

This profile is specifically checked as the only one that can access the given point of sale.

Only the employees of the profile can be considered as salespeople.

It is possible to log in to PrestaShop with any employee account and then access the cash register.

If the option "Ask for salesperson identification at each sale?" is NOT enabled, the salesperson must identify themselves when accessing the cash register interface. As long as they do not leave this interface, they do not need to identify themselves again.

If this option is enabled, identification will be required before each sale.

In all cases, it is possible to change the salesperson by clicking on the salesperson icon in the upper right corner of the cash register interface.
