Click and Collect

Configuration in the PrestaShop back office

1. Set up a carrier

In the PrestaShop back office, go to the Shipping / Carriers menu. You need to set up a specific carrier dedicated to Click & Collect, of the "Store pickup" type. This carrier will generally be free (or free from a certain amount) and associated with the appropriate geographic zones.

2. Set up an order status

You need to configure an order status of the "Order picked up" type (it can also be an existing status).

This is the final status of an order AFTER the customer has picked it up via Click & Collect.

PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9: Store Settings menu / Orders / "Order statuses" tab

Important : the following options MUST be checked in the relevant status:

  • Consider the associated order as validated
  • Mark the associated order as shipped
  • Mark the associated order as paid

3. Configure the POS module options

You need to configure Click & Collect in the Caisse Prestatill module options.

PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9: Modules menu / Module Manager

Find the "Caisse PrestaTill" module and click on "Configure".

In the "Your points of sale" tab, select the relevant store and scroll down to the Carrier Settings section.

In the dropdown "Choose a carrier associated with this point of sale", select the carrier created in step 1.

Then, in the "Final order status AFTER the customer has picked up in Click & Collect" dropdown, select the status created in step 2.

Usage

View Click & Collect orders

Click & Collect orders placed online are automatically displayed in a dedicated popup in the POS.

This popup is accessible directly from the POS home screen or from the cart view at the bottom next to the "Search a ticket" button.

Please note: an automatic check is performed every 5 minutes and displays the number of online Click & Collect orders as a badge on the button. You can force this check by simply clicking on the button.

Process Click & Collect orders

In the popup containing the list of pending Click & Collect orders, click "Choose" to view the order details. Then prepare the order while waiting for the customer to come and pick it up.

When the customer collects their order: Click the "Change order status" button on the right side. Select the status created in step 2 from the "Order statuses" dropdown. Don't forget to click "Update".

The order is considered as picked up and disappears from the Click & Collect popup list.

Please note: it is possible to create an additional order status that automatically sends an email to the customer to let them know their order is ready. You can also combine Click & Collect management with the Drive module, which allows the customer to choose a date and time slot to pick up their order.
